The Honorable Regina Bartholomew-Woods, a native of New Orleans, and a graduate of a New Orleans Public School, obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English, with a minor in Political Science from Southern University at New Orleans in 1994. Judge Woods earned her Juris Doctorate degree from Loyola University College of Law in 1999, where she ranked in the top 20% of her graduating class. She was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar in 1999.

Judge Bartholomew-Woods currently serves as an Appellate Court Judge at the Louisiana Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal. Prior thereto, she served as Civil Judge for Division B of the Civil District Court for the Parish of Orleans. Prior to her judgeship, she served as Of Counsel with the law firm of Boykin, Ehret & Utley, APLC. Her prior employment was as General Counsel for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools in Charlotte, North Carolina; Staff Attorney with McGlinchey Stafford, PLLC; service as General Counsel for the Orleans Parish School Board, an attorney in private practice with several law firms, and with the United States Government at the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of the Solicitor in Dallas, Texas. Judge Bartholomew-Woods began her legal career as a Judicial Law Clerk for the 40th Judicial District Court in Edgard, LA, where she served as law clerk to Judges Madeline Jasmine, Mary Hotard Becnel (ret.) and J. Sterling Snowdy.

In addition to serving the public as a Judge and her professional activities, Judge Bartholomew-Woods devotes her life to various civic associations. Specifically, she is a member of the New Orleans Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the New Orleans Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, the League of Women Voters of New Orleans, the Greater New Orleans Coalition of 100 Black Women, the Pontchartrain Chapter of The Links, Inc., and a lifetime member of the S.U.N.O. Alumni Association. She is also a founding member of the Mystic Krewe of Femme Fatale, an advisory board member of The Beautiful Foundation, Inc., and a board member of the Keller Group Neighborhood Foundation.
