Michael P. Mentz is a judge of the 24th Judicial District in Louisiana. He was elected on November 6, 2012. He succeeded Judge Patrick J. McCabe on the court. He successfully ran for re-election to the 24th Judicial District in 2014. His current term will expire on December 31, 2020. Mentz received B.S. in accounting from Louisiana State University in 1978 and his J.D. from Loyola University in 1981. Prior to his election to the court, Mentz was an attorney in private practice.
