Walker, who has served as Judge of the 32nd JDC, Division B for 7 1/2 years, was first elected Nov. 8, 1994, filling the two-year unexpired term of retiring Judge Baron B. Bourg.
Prior to his election as district judge, Walker practiced civil law and served 10 years as a full-time assistant district attorney.
He is a 1968 graduate of Vandebilt Catholic High School, a 1972 graduate of Nicholls State University, and a 1975 graduate of Loyola University School of Law.
He has been married to Rochelle Foret for 31 years. She teaches and is currently the head of the gifted program at Terrebonne High School. The couple three children — John Jr., Jennifer and Bryan.
