Judge Jeff Johnson joined the 21st Judicial District Court in January 2015 as Judge for Division ‘A’. Judge Johnson, a Republican, graduated from Centenary College of Louisiana with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He attended Centenary on a golf scholarship and was very active in the school’s student government and fraternal organizations. He then served as President of the Criminal Law Society at LSU and graduated from LSU Law School in 1994.
Johnson and his three sons attend The Mission Church where he serves as a small group church leader. He has also served the First United Methodist Church in Ponchatoula as a Church Trustee and Administrative Council Chair as well as in the capacity of lay representative at the United Methodist Church Annual Conference. He has also been actively involved for many years with the Ponchatoula Youth Basketball League, sponsoring and coaching the children of his community.
Johnson has been a member of the Hammond Chamber of Commerce, the Ponchatoula Chamber of Commerce, the Tangipahoa Homebuilders Association, and a past member of the Board of Directors for the New Horizons Youth Bureau. Professionally, he is a member of the 21st Judicial District Bar Association, the Louisiana Bar Association, the Louisiana District Attorneys Association, and has been a member of the Louisiana Trial Attorneys Association and a Bar delegate.
