Judge Bradberry served as the Family & Juvenile Court Hearing Officer from July 11, 1991 to December 31, 2002. He was elected as Judge of the 14th Judicial District Family & Juvenile Court, Division C and took office on January 1, 2003. Judge Bradberry is a member of the American, State, and Southwest Louisiana Bar Associations; a member of the 3rd Circuit Judges Association; a member of the LA Association of Drug Court Professionals; a member of the Louisiana District Judges Association and is currently serving as 1st Vice President; a member of the Louisiana Judicial College Board of Governors, and is on the District Judges Association Executive Committee, Legislative Committee and Family Courts Committee. Judge Bradberry is the Co-Chair of the Department of Children and Family Services Judicial Liaison Committee, is the chairman for the La Bar Foundation Southwest Community Partnership Panel and a member of the Tulane Early Childhood Policy Leadership Institute. He is a member and Past President of the Louisiana Family & Juvenile Judges Association. He is on the CASA Community Advisory Council at Family & Youth Counseling Agency, and received the Family Mediation Council of Louisiana 2007 state award. Judge Bradberry is a member of the Calcasieu Parish Children and Youth Planning Board; a former member of the St. Louis Catholic High School Board; a Commissioner for the Boy Scouts, a Southwest Louisiana Fellowship of Christian Athletes Board Member and is a Past President/Board Member for the Henry L. Yelverton Chapter of the St. Thomas Moore Society. Judge Bradberry is a Eucharistic Minister and Lector at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral. He is a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, and received the Diocese of Lake Charles Lawrence Toups Memorial Public Official of the Year award for 2003. Judge Bradberry is the 2012 Louisiana Child Support Enforcement Agency State Judge of the Year Recipient and is also the 2012 U.S. Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute’s Recipient of the “Angel in Adoption” Award Representing Louisiana. Judge Bradberry served as a member of the 2016 Governor John Bell Edwards Transition Team.

Judge Bradberry is married to Melanie Temple Bradberry. They have three children, Melissa Sims, Dr. Andrew Bradberry and Jonathan Bradberry and five grandchildren, Ella Rose, Maxwell, Preston, Emerson and Guy Thomas. For the year 2002, he was named Louisiana Father of the Year by the National Center for Fathering and the Louisiana Governor’s Office.
