Fred C. Amman, III is a judge of the 4th Judicial District, Elec. Sec. 2, Division E. He was elected without opposition in early February of 2010 and was sworn in on March 19, 2010. He was re-elected in 2014 for a term beginning on January 1, 2015 and expiring on December 31, 2020. Amman received his undergraduate degree from Tulane University and his J.D. from the Paul M. Herbert School of Law at Louisiana State University. Amman spent 32 years practicing law before he was elected to the Monroe City Court in 2007. He also served as a Monroe City Court judge pro tempore from March through December of 2000. He was elected to the district court in 2010.
