As a teenager, Chris earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Achieving scouting’s highest honor – which only an elite 2% accomplish – was a defining experience in Chris’s life. It instilled in him a commitment to citizenship and service, and he abides by its sage motto – be prepared. Magna cum laude graduate of Jesuit High School and a proud graduate of LSU and Tulane Law School, Chris Cox’s success is rooted in disciplined preparation and a penchant for precision.

Chris clerked for a federal judge before becoming an Assistant District Attorney. As a prosecutor, he convicted the most heinous of criminals and stopped them from continuing their rage of murders, robberies and rapes. As an Assistant United States Attorney, he removed dangerous drugs and guns from our streets and was part of a select team that helped protect our community from violent criminals.

In 2010, Chris utilized his skills in both law and finance to serve as Chief Operating Officer for Jefferson Parish. For over three years, he led 35 departments, 3,000 employees, a $420 million budget, and advised on a committee to modernize the laws of the parish. Continuing his public service, Chris returned to his legal roots in 2014 as the Executive Assistant District Attorney to Jefferson Parish District Attorney Paul Connick. In that role, Chris represented the Jefferson Parish DA at the Louisiana District Attorneys Association and helped develop policy for our state’s top prosecutors.
