Alvin Turner, Jr. is a judge of the 23rd Judicial District in Louisiana. He was first elected to this position on October 16, 1993 and took office the following January 1. He was re-elected in 2014 for a term beginning on January 1, 2015 and expiring on December 31, 2020.

Turner received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University at Baton Rouge and his J.D. in 1980 from the Southern University Law Center. Turner worked at Capital Area Legal Services and in the 23rd Judicial Indigent Defender Program early in his career. He then worked as an assistant district attorney (23rd JDC) from 1982 until his judicial election in 1993.
